Waiting on Wednesday (11): Incarnation and Crazies

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine. The purpose of this weekly event is to spotlight soon-to-be-released books that you are so [im]patiently waiting for. It also gives other bloggers a chance to find and share books for To Be Read lists.
The Alchemy of Forever
Author: Avery Williams
Publisher: Simon & Schuster Books for Young Readers
ISBN: 1442443162
ISBN-13: 9781442443167
Expected Publication: January 3, 2012
Pre-order: Amazon | The Book Depository

Synopsis (goodreads): Seraphina’s first love made her immortal…her second might get her killed.

Incarnation is a new series that introduces a fresh mythology perfect for fans of bestselling series like The Immortals by Alyson Noel and Beautiful Creatures by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl.

After spending six hundred years on earth, Seraphina Ames has seen it all. Eternal life provides her with the world’s riches, but at a very high price: innocent lives. Centuries ago, her boyfriend, Cyrus, discovered a method of alchemy that allows them to swap bodies with other humans, jumping from one vessel to the next, taking the human’s life in the process. No longer able to bear the guilt of what she’s done, Sera escapes from Cyrus and vows to never kill again.

Then sixteen-year-old Kailey Morgan gets into a horrific car accident right in front of her, and Sera accidentally takes over her body. For the first time, Sera finds herself enjoying the life of the person she’s inhabiting—and falls for the human boy who lives next door. But Cyrus will stop at nothing until she’s his again, and every moment she stays, she’s putting herself and the people she’s grown to care for in great danger. Will Sera have to give up the one thing that’s eluded her for centuries: true love?

Why I need this: This book sounds incredibly interesting! I really haven't spent much time reading books about reincarnation, but this one sound like it would be a great read.

The Glimpse
Author: Claire Merle
Publisher: Faber and Faber (UK)
Expected Publication: June 2012

Synopsis (goodreads): In a near future mental illness has skyrocketed out of control, and society is divided by genetic testing into those who will become ill—the Crazies—and those who won’t—the Pures.

Until the age of fifteen, Ana has lived a privileged existence amongst the Pures, but her whole world crumbles when she finds out that there was a mistake with her test. She is actually one of the Crazies and one day in the near or distant future, she will become sick.

Ana has already been promised to Pure-boy Jasper Taurell. Jasper is from a rich and influential family and despite Ana’s defects, wants to be with her. The authorities grant Ana a conditional reprieve. If she is joined to Jasper before her 18th birthday she may stay in the Community until her illness manifests. But if Jasper changes his mind, she will be cast out among the Crazies. As Ana’s joining ceremony and birthday loom closer, she dares to hope she will be saved from the horror of the City and live a ‘normal’ life. But then Jasper disappears.

A heart-pounding thriller.

Why I need this: It sounds a little far-fetched to me, BUT it also sounds like it could be really great. Especially when Jasper disappears. Why did he disappear? Was it to keep him from marrying a Crazy?? I'm thinking so. I can't wait to see the cover for this book.

You can read a review of this book here. It's a good one! And it give you a little more insight into the story.

What are you waiting for this Wednesday??
