My quote this week comes from The Lorax by Dr. Seuss.

“But now," says the Once-ler,
"now that you're here,
the word of the Lorax seems perfectly clear.
UNLESS someone like you cares a whole awful lot,
nothing is going to get better.
 It's not.”

I love this book so much. I bought it for my son last week for Valentine's Day, and I've never actually read it myself. I've been wanting to take him to see the movie so I thought getting the book for him would be kind of perfect. It actually has a wonderful message for children, and even adults, about saving the environment and treating it with care, because everything that you do affects others.

I also discovered by reading the back cover of the book that there's this thing called The Lorax Project. It was created to raise awareness of environmental issues and to inspire people of all ages to take action in saving our environment. If you would like to learn more about The Lorax Project and about how you can help, go to www.theloraxproject.com.

What are your memorable quotes this week??

  1. That's a very lovely quote, Kelly! I worked in a kindergarten for one year, but already before that I loved children books a lot. A lot of them are so carefully and wonderful written and try to teach so important things. This one seems to be like a good one.

By the way, if you're looking for a good book for kids, I'd totally recommend The Gruffalo by Julia Donaldson. I read that to the kids a lot and they loved it (it was the German version though).

    1. I'm pretty sure I've heard of The Gruffalo before, maybe even read it, but I really can't remember lol. Thanks so much for the suggestion, Miri! I'll definitely check it out.

      Happy Reading!

  2. I have yet to be better acquainted with the Dr. Seuss books, we have two that our oldest got from relatives in Canada. I love both of them :) As far as I know not many of them have been translated into Norwegian(or perhaps I've never come across them).

Gruffalo has been very popular in Norway as well :)

  3. How cool! I hope this one'll be available (or already is, I'll check it out later) in German so I can get my sister to read it. :)
