This week I have a couple of quotes from The Way We Fall by Megan Crewe. I absolutely loved this book, and if you haven't read it, I highly recommend it. Well, unless you're a hypochondriac. Then I might suggest you read with caution; every sneeze, cough or itch will make you cringe. And now for the quotes:

"If you feel a cold coming on, do the responsible thing and take a sick day," the reporters are saying. As if skipping work is going to do any good once people get to the extra-friendly stage. Our virus is a lot smarter than the ones you see in zombie movies. It doesn't make its victims stagger around slobbering and moaning so anyone in their right mind would run the other way. It gets you cozying up to people so you can cough and sneeze it right into their faces. (page 93)

"You know, for all the talk you hear about "Mother Nature" and the harmony of the natural world, the truth is, nature doesn't give a crap about anything or anyone.
Every scientist knows that. Nature doesn't have feelings or morals; it's just a bunch of random chances that sometimes work in the favor of this pack or that herd, and sometimes wipe one out. Some random chance gave this one virus the ability to infect our brains and spread itself by making its victims want other people's company. And as far as nature's concerned, whether we win or the virus does, it's all the same. There's nothing that stops and thinks about how much or how many are going to get hurt.
But every now and then I still want to have someone to grab and shake and shout at: "How could you?"
A question Nature's never going to answer. (page 243)

So what are your memorable quotes this week??

I sort of hate you a little bit right now.. Give me the money so I can buy the book!! PLEASE! ;_; XD Or, as I'd normally say: GREAT QUOTES!

Thank you very much for sharing them, even though I'm nearly facing a mental breakdown because I have no money left whatsoever.

  3. Woooooow!

Okay, so I'm a little hypochondriac, especially after I got this awful lactose intolerance that really, really annoys me every day again (or almost every day, but today is a day like that, so I just feel the need to stress that), but I have to say that this sounds like a really, really awesome and interesting book! I've already seen the cover every now and then and it definitely got my attention. After reading your quotes, I think I'd love to read it right away. Damn being hypochondriac, it sounds like a great topic! Really awesome choice of a quote, thank you so much for sharing!
