Review

While this is not my favorite Fallen novel, I did enjoy reading it and learning more about the characters. When it says "A Fallen Novel in Stories", it means just that. The four stories occur over a certain amount of time, in the perspective of four different characters: Shelby, Roland, past Arriane, and Luce. We learn about love and heartbreak, and just how far people are willing to go for the ones they love the most.

The first story is Love Where You Least Expect It: The Valentine of Shelby and Miles. It opens with Shelby and Miles stepping out of an Announcer into what they believe is home. They find out quickly that it is not; they have arrived in England during the Middle Ages and realize that they have no way of summoning another Announcer to get back, so they search for one of the angels to help them. During this search, they decide to help Lucinda of the past to patch things up with Daniel of the past, and along the way discover their true feelings for each other. In Love Lessons: The Valentine of Roland we learn that Roland has been in love with the same woman since the Middle Ages and the terrible heartache he has been through ever since ending things with her, trying to do the right thing. From here, the story continues on in Arriane's point of view in Burning Love: The Valentine of Arriane. In this story, we learn of Arriane's true love, who we find out is someone that she will never be able to be with, and we learn of the heartbreak she has endured, as well as where her scars come from.  And finally, we reach the story we are most eager to read: Endless Love: The Valentine of Daniel and Lucinda. Upon entering this story, present day Luce has arrived in the Middle Ages through an Announcer. Bill has informed her that this is the only Valentine's Day in her and Daniel's history that they have ever spent together and to enjoy it. And so she does. She "goes 3-D" as Bill calls it, and joins with Lucinda of the past, experiencing Valentine's Day with Daniel for the very first time.

Like I said before, this isn't my favorite Fallen novel, but it was a nice read, and I really liked seeing things from the point of view of the other characters.
