Follow Friday and Friday Five (March 9, 2012)

Follow Friday is a weekly meme hosted byParajunkee and Alison Can Read. It's a great way to meet new blogger friends.

This weeks question is:

Have you ever looked at book’s cover and thought, This is going to horrible? But, was instead pleasantly surprised? Show us the cover and tell us about the book.

The Man from St. Petersburg by Ken Follett. The cover just didn't speak to me, but I had people telling me what an amazing book it was so I read it, and it turns out they were right. I really loved it. I'm glad I didn't judge the book by its cover.

What Five Romantic/Love-Based Books Blew You Away

1. The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins - While this isn't exactly romantic or love-based, there is a strong sense of love in it: love for her sister/family, her best friend, and eventually a baker's son. Katniss fights to keep the people she loves alive, and I don't think that should go unnoticed. This book truly did blow me away. Every bit of the series had me turning pages dying for more and when it was over, I still wanted more. It's just one of those book series that you absolutely cannot forget and has you thinking about it for months after you've read it.

2. The Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare - If you've read this series, you know all the drama surrounding the two lovebirds: Clary and Jace. I was rooting for them from the beginning and through all the "oh my god! NO WAY!"'s. This series is phenomenal.

3. The Infernal Devices by Cassandra Clare - Yes, I am going to add  this one too. Mostly because of the insane love triangle within the pages, and just how difficult it is to choose a side because both guys are completely worthy of Tessa's love.

4. The Notebook by Nicholas Sparks - Noah. Enough said.

5. Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen - Let's face it. This book is fantastic, and the love story within is equally amazing.

What are you FFs and Friday Fives??

  1. I agree with The Mortal Instruments. They aren't very appealing covers. Too action-y looking, if you know what I mean.
