This week my quote (or should I say quotes) comes from Wildefire by Karsten Knight:

"There are two types of people in this world, Ashline," the headmistress said. "Those of us who fear what we cannot control, who sit in the driver's seat of life and take charge of our own fates. And then there are those who fear choice, whose so burdened by the mistakes that they've made that they seek solace in what they cannot control, knowing that no matter the outcome, at least it wasn't their fault. I challenge you to figure out which one you are." (page 239)

"As much as I appreciate a little mystery on a first date," she said, slightly winded, "I have to admit that following a guy I barely know into the woods with only a length of rope and a camera is what my mom would refer to as a bad situation." (page 280)

I put the second quote down to give you an idea of the sarcasm and wit within the pages. There are so many funny quotes that I could have put down, but I really enjoyed that one a lot. And the top one just stood out to me simply because it's something to think about: Which kind of person are you?

What are your memorable quotes this week??

  5. These are two very awesome quotes! The first one sounds very true and great. Actually I'm not particular sure what kind of person I am. That's interesting. I should think about that :D

And the second quote is just great. Sounds totally like a character I'd like to read about :) Thank you for sharing this quote!

  6. Great quotes, Kelly, and I really like your blog! How many of us can relate to the second one? ;-) Good luck in your pursuit of becoming a teacher. I teach 9th grade English and adore it most days, but there are also tough days, of course. :-)
