Feature and Follow Friday is a weekly meme hosted by Parajunkee and Alison Can Read.

This weeks question:
It is up to you to do a Kickstarter campaign for your favorite book!!! Who are you casting for the main characters?

Oh my gosh, I am LOVING this weeks question so much!! It really shouldn't come as a surprise which book I'm going to cast ;)

The Iron King by Julie Kagawa is the beginning of one of my absolute favorite book series of all time. It has such wonderful magical elements and the writing is phenomenal. You feel completely transported into this faery world that is both terrifying and thrilling all at the same time and I think it could make a perfect transition into a movie (or tv show). In fact, this is one of the books that made my Top Ten this week which was focused on which books we would love to see as a movie or tv show.

Before I cast the main characters, here is the premise for the first book (The Iron King) in this wonderful series for those of you who haven't heard of it:
Meghan Chase has a secret destiny; one she could never have imagined.

Something has always felt slightly off in Meghan's life, ever since her father disappeared before her eyes when she was six. She has never quite fit in at school or at home.

When a dark stranger begins watching her from afar, and her prankster best friend becomes strangely protective of her, Meghan senses that everything she's known is about to change.

But she could never have guessed the truth - that she is the daughter of a mythical faery king and is a pawn in a deadly war. Now Meghan will learn just how far she'll go to save someone she cares about, to stop a mysterious evil, no faery creature dare face; and to find love with a young prince who might rather see her dead than let her touch his icy heart.

And now for those I deem worthy enough to play a few of my favorite characters:

And just because I can...

Now for a little explanation as to why I chose these actors... I've seen several of Emma Watson's movies and I think she could really bring Meghan to life. With her background in magical movies, I think she could very easily portray the faery magic. I've seen a few of the things that Nick Roux has been in and from his attitude in those he's definitely got some Puck in him. He even has that smirk on his face. And Max Irons does that quiet, brooding, dangerous type very well and I think he would be a great choice for Ash. The only problem with Nick and Max is that they would both have to die their hair but I think they could easily pull of those colors. Actually, Emma would have to color her hair as well buuuut that's okay. Hair coloring is an easy fix. As for the rest of the cast.. I think it's kind of obvious why I chose them. I mean, look at their pictures!

Also, I have cast this book before back at the beginning of 2012 (which I had forgotten about but came across during my search for actors) and I had cast the three main characters very differently. If you would like to see that casting you can find it here. They also would make excellent choices as far as looks go.

  4. Thanks for stopping by my FF, and following, Kelly. I haven't read The Iron King or The Iron Daughter, but do have them on my blog - reviewed by a guest reviewer. Charlize Theron is a great pick, seeing as she's from my hometown! All the way from South Africa! I like Emma Watson, too.

    Happy Friday.
