Top Ten Tuesday: Best Sequels Ever

Normally I consider sequels to be just the second book in a series but for the sake this Top Ten I decided to include others as well.

These are the books that are in my opinion the best sequels. A couple of these are after the second book in the series, but they were just soooooo good. They were also my favorite in the series so I couldn't NOT put them on this list.

I wasn't a huge fan of Clockwork Angel but I still thought it was pretty good, however, Clockwork Prince sealed my love for The Infernal Devices series.

Unravel Me was sooooo much better than Shatter Me. While I enjoyed it, it just didn't wow me. But oh how Unravel Me well... unraveled me.

As for Jennifer L. Armentrout's Covenant series, Half-Blood was really good. I loved it. But Pure blew my mind. And every book after it just got better and BETTER. Just when I would think that they had reached their peak, Jennifer surprised me yet again.

Julie Kagawa's Iron Fey was already a favorite of mine, and then The Iron Knight came along and Ash's love for Meghan completely took my breath away. That book did things to me and I was never the same.

Catching Fire. The whole book was amazing, but THE ENDING. I think that's all I need to say about that.

My favorite thing about Passion from the Fallen series and why it's my favorite in the series is simply because of (SPOILER HERE!!!) Luce's journey through all of her past lives to know her love for Daniel as Daniel knows it.

As for the other books, they're all amazing sequels to already solid series.

So what are the books you consider to be the best sequels??

  1. I would totally agree with Catching Fire, but I didn't like the ending as much as Hunger Games. But I think it was a really good sequel nonetheless. I just wish Mockingjay had been better. Great list, Kelly!

  4. I have Clockwork Prince and Catching Fire on my list, too. I can't wait to read Pandemonium and Pure, I really liked the first books in these two series.
