So I've decided to join this little meme started by Novel Heartbeat (originally Auntie Spinelli Reads) so my awesome followers can get to know me better.

This week's topic:

TV Shows

In all honesty, I don't really watch much tv these days but I used to be a HUGE TV person. I had shows every night that I had to watch. If I missed the show that night, I would catch up online the next day. But these days I have two kids and it's difficult to sit down and watch something that I want to watch without my oldest son begging to watch the Disney channel. What I watch during the day while he's at school is CNN News, One Tree Hill and Gilmore Girls. Gilmore Girls is my absolute FAVORITE show. Of all time. That will never ever change as long as I live. It's been my favorite show since I began high school and it's still my favorite now. Watching one episode is just not enough for me so usually when I watch it, it's in multiple episodes or a whole marathon. Don't ask me what I love about it because the answer is one simple word: EVERYTHING.

A list of shows that I could watch over and over and never be bored of are:
  • Gilmore Girls
  • How I Met Your Mother
  • One Tree Hill
  • Boy Meets World
  • The Big Bang Theory

I used to be really big on watching these shows, but I haven't kept up with the most recent seasons:
  • The Vampire Diaries
  • Pretty Little Liars
  • Once Upon a Time
  • Switched at Birth
^^^
That man is seriously the main reason I watched the show. He's the perfect Damon. *swoon*

I was a huge fan of these shows back in the day:
  • 7th Heaven
  • Smallville
  • Everwood
  • What I Like About You
  • Jane by Design
  • Kyle XY
  • The Lying Game
  • Make It or Break It
  • Greek
  • Wildefire
  • The O.C.

I have a bad habit of watching a few episodes of tv shows and then just stopping at no fault of the show. A couple examples of those shows would be Twisted and The Fosters. I'm also bad to begin each season of The Bachelor and The Bachelorette stop after the first couple of episodes and then start watching it again during the last few episodes when there are like 4 guys/girls left. I think the reason for that is because all the middle episodes just seem to run together to me.

A show I recently tried to get into is Ravenswood but it was super creepy and freaked me out so I didn't continue on with it after the first episode. I know... lame.

As far as reality tv goes, I'm really not a fan of it. Shows like Jersey Shore and Keeping Up with the Kardashians just isn't my cup of tea. I do enjoy watching Duck Dynasty and Catfish though. Duck Dynasty just cracks me up and I think Catfish is absolutely crazy. I couldn't imagine having a serious relationship with someone over the internet that I've never even met and to go on a journey to meet that person having no idea who they really are or what they really look like sounds like the most terrifying thing ever but the show completely sucks me in.

My man has also got me into watching some anime and I've got to say I'm rather enjoying it. He watches some really great shows. The two that I've been watching the most though are Attack on Titan and Sword Art Online

Attack on Titan is super graphic and a little on the strange side but it's a great story. And has some badass action scenes in it.

Sword Art Online is about a video game that while you're playing it, you're completely immersed in the game using your nerve endings with what they call NerveGear. The catch? With this particular game, once you're in it, you can't get out unless someone beats the entire game. And if you die in the game, you die in real life. Pretty crazy right? Oh, and the people playing the game didn't know that little fact before playing it.

--------------------

So anyways.. that's pretty much all of the shows I can think of that I've watched extensively. I used to watch a ton of tv but once I started reading again I stopped watching tv and spent that time reading books instead. I still try to make time for my favorites every now and then though.

What are your favorite tv shows? Based on the shows that I listed, do you have any recommendations for me?

  2. I've never watched Gilmore Girls before :S but I used to love Smallville. I still faithfully watch Vampire Diaries and Damon is more hotter then ever (if that's possible lol).

  3. I love Gilmore Girls too but I haven't watched more than a few minutes of it since the show ended. I even have all the seasons on DVD.

  4. You should get back into the Vampire Diaries because it's gotten quite good recently. Though I will say its spinoff, The Originals, is AMAZING and surpasses it by far.
Nikita is also great, Agents of Shield, Arrow, Veronica Mars, Prison Break, Suits, Reign, Teen Wolf, Once Upon A Time In Wonderland ... yeah, I'm obsessed with a few shows haha.

I'm with you on Greek too! I loved that show (mostly for Cappie!)

    1. I really do need to get back into it, don't I?! I haven't watched a single episode of The Originals though. I've been thinking of starting Veronica Mars. I see it on SOAPnet all the time but I've never actually sat down and watched an episode. I've also wanted to watch Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D, Reign and Once Upon a Time In Wonderland but I just haven't had the chance to. I've seen a few episodes of Arrow and it looks really good but once again, I just haven't had time to keep up with it. :/

Also, I love Cappie! He's a huge reason I watched the show lol

  5. One Tree Hill is one of my favs! And like Allie said GREEK! Love Cappie!! I also watch Once Upon a Time, The Big Bang Theory, and Pretty Little Liars (and the Lying Game... damn ABCFamily for cancelling it!!!). Awkward is a cute show (most of the time). You might like that one :)

  6. 7th heaven! I remember I used to like staying home from school because it would be on tv at 12pm and I'd get to watch it lol I was hooked on The O.C and One Tree Hill (we only got a couple of seasons here in Australia before they stopped showing it) when they were on tv, I need to get them on dvd so I can enjoy them again. Great shows.

  7. So I've basically never watched any of those haha. Not many of them really interested me (although I'm very picky and only certain ones do). I did watch 7th Heaven a few times, and was really into Smallville when I was a teenager. I really wanted to get into Kyle XY…but I watched an episode or two and never finished, like I do with most series =/
Attack on Titan was one my boyfriend and I were wanting to try. We've been trying to find some new anime to watch together!
    Thanks for participating :)
