Cars I own/have owned
So I don't really have a means to take pictures of my cars at the moment (I know, sad day), but I can tell you what kind they are! I had wanted to get a VW Jetta but I was on a budget so my very first car, which I still have but can't drive because the transmission went out on it, was a 2000 VW Beetle. I got it when I was 15 and because it was cute. I had NO IDEA it was going to give me so much trouble. I had nothing but trouble from it from the moment I got it and when I started working two years ago I spent half of the money I made in those nine months getting my car fixed. And then THE WEEK I got laid off the transmission went out. GOOD RIDDANCE.Luckily, my boyfriend's mom had gotten a new car at the beginning of the year last year and offered to let us have her old one if we paid the $800 to get it fixed so we went half-and-half and bought it from her. We've had a little trouble out of it but NOTHING like the Beetle. Oh yeah, it's a '97 Saturn.
Cars I want to own
Okay, so first and foremost the one car that I would get if I had the money to is this one right here:
2014 Kia Sorento
I would also really like a Kia Optima. Specifically one that looks like this:
However, I can't afford those so instead I'm going to be more realistic when I finally start looking. I really like the Ford Fiesta and the Ford Fusion, but I'm leaning more toward the Fusion. I also really like the Edge (but that one is also unrealistic because they're rather expensive as well).
This is the Fiesta, and yes, it is the hatchback. I really like those.
I honestly like the older Fusions better than the newer so I'm going to post a picture of the older one.
And for the Edge...
So yeah, that's basically it. I'll probably end up getting an older Ford Fusion when I finally buy a new car (one of my resolutions for the year!) and I'll definitely be getting a 4-door car because that's what our Saturn is and it is SOOOOOOOO much easier when you have children to have those back doors. It's a real pain the behind trying to fit an infant car seat into my moms 2-door car. And Brayden's barely fit in my Beetle when he was a baby so yes. 4-doors are must.
What cars do you own/have you owned/do you wish you owned??
I love the Kia Sorentos. That actually the one I plan to get in a few years once I get my car paid off. Although, it's going to have to be a used one, haha.

Yeah, mine would definitely be a used one as well!
DeleteAll your problems with the VW? I TOTALLY GET IT. The Jetta I had was awful on repairs! Everything was so cheaply made, but parts were insanely expensive. And it had too many problems...good riddance, indeed!
ReplyDeleteOoohh, I love the Sorento!!! I've been checking out a lot of crossover models lately (like the RX, Equinox & Traverse, Santa Fe, and CRV), and that was one I didn't find. It looks awesome! I think that may be in the running for 'future mom car' :)
I like the CRV too! My neighbor has one and it's really nice. :)
DeleteLovely cars! I really like the blue shade of the Fiesta! :)
ReplyDeleteOooohh me too. That's why I chose that picture haha
DeleteGreat cars. I love the Ford Edge, such a pretty car!

I know! If only it wasn't so darn expensive! :(
DeleteWhen I bought my lancer I actually test drove a Bug Convertible. I thought it was so cute, but I'm really tall and on the plumper side, so it wasn't a good fit for me. I guess I'm glad I didn't! I also love the Kia Optima, though it's out of my price range too. Remember when Kia's were the cars you bought BECAUSE they were the cheapest?! What happened there? LOL
ReplyDeleteI don't know but it would sure be nice if they still were! And still looked this good ;) ha!
DeleteI don't plan on starting a family soon so I'm still in the "I want faaaaast cars" phase, but I can definitely see how 4-door cars are better when you have kids.
ReplyDeleteOh yes, they are way better when you have kids! Especially multiple kids.
DeleteFirst car is always the most memorable one, in my opinion. It’s just disappointing that yours didn’t work out well because of its transmission problem. Repair is a good option but sad that it didn’t work either. Thankfully your boyfriend’s mom is nice enough to offer her car to you. At least you have a car to use for the meantime. Anyway, a new car as a resolution is very exciting. I hope you’ll get it soon.

I like the Beetle despite its crankiness, and it was one of the most popular cars in the last century, right? Though I agree with your decision in letting it go altogether for the 97 Saturn, which is definitely more reliable. As for the cars you want, I'm particularly liking the Fiesta, just because of the adorable hatch back. However, in my opinion, the Fusion is definitely a good pick and probably the better choice. Anyway, I hope you'll be able to buy your dream car soon!
