Eversea, a love story, is a Winter Rose Contest FINALIST 2013. Emilia Pisani of Simon & Schuster (judge) says "Great southern flavor!" and "Jack is an alluring leading man!"

An orphaned, small-town, southern girl, held hostage by responsibility and self-doubt.

A Hollywood A-list mega-star, on the run from his latest scandal and with everything to lose.

A chance encounter that leads to an unlikely arrangement and epic love affair that will change them both forever.

When his co-star and real-life girlfriend is caught cheating on him with her new director, A-list hottie, Jack Eversea, finds himself in sleepy Butler Cove, South Carolina. Jack hopes the sultry southern heat in this tiny coastal Lowcountry town will hide him not only from the tabloids and his cheating girlfriend, but his increasingly vapid life and the people who run it. He doesn’t count on meeting Keri Ann Butler.

Keri Ann has relied on herself so long, dealing with her family’s death and the responsibilities of keeping up her family's historic mansion, that boys and certainly the meager offering of eligible boys in Butler Cove, have never figured into her equation. But fate has other plans. Suddenly face to face with the man who played the movie role of her favorite fictional character, Jack has Keri Ann yearning for everything she has previously avoided ... and Jack must decide whether this funny, sassy girl is worth changing his life for, before his mistakes catch up to him.

I feel like I should start this review by saying that I originally had signed up to read only Eversea but about two-thirds of the way in I realized that I really wanted to know what happened between Keri Ann and Jack so I asked Giselle if I could also review Forever, Jack. Thank god she said yes!!

I'm sure at some point you've fantasized about what would happen if a famous star came to your town and a hot love affair started up between you two right? Of course you have--it's every girls dream at some point in her life. Well for Keri Ann Butler of the small town Butler Cove who was enjoying her peaceful life working as a waitress that is exactly what happens. In walks the famous Jack Eversea, the sexy star of one of her favorite movies and turns her life upside down. He's in Butler Cove to work through his relationship problems after his famous girlfriend cheated on him and was planning on returning to California in three weeks. He wasn't betting on falling for a small town girl during his getaway.

Keri Ann, unlike all the other girls Jack has met, is extremely reluctant to get involved with him because of his celebrity status but staying away from him proves impossible. There was a lot of back and forth going on. One minute their restraining, the next they can't get enough of each other. I could see the reluctance for both of them--he doesn't want to get involved with her just to leave in a few weeks, and she's afraid of getting her heart broken and looking like a fool for giving her heart away to a famous man. With all that being said, I really loved watching their relationship grow from acquaintances into a passionate romance, even with the ups and downs. I had actually forgotten about it being a New Adult book until the sexy scenes came up and they hit me by surprise. But a good surprise.

I also enjoyed the dual point of view in Forever, Jack quite a bit. It was really nice to be inside of Jack's head and see what he was going through and how he was feeling. Even though a lot of times I wanted to yell at the both of them. Jack for not explaining himself properly with a lot of things and Keri Ann for not giving him the time to do it. She was always assuming things and thinking the worst. While she appeared strong at times she also showed her insecurities quite often when something would happen where Jack was concerned. Instead of hearing him out she almost always immediately ran in the other direction even though she wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt. Another thing I really liked is that this series is only two books long. And I don't mean that in a bad way. A lot of times in trilogies I just don't enjoy the middle book as much as the others so it was nice to have this story only split two ways and be able to enjoy it so fully.

I think the thing that is keeping me from giving this two book series a 5-star review is the insta-love. It's so common these days in literature and I think in this scenario a slow build-up of a relationship would have been a lot better. Instead they "fell in love" in a matter of a few days and that just didn't sit well with me. I think if the things that happened between them had been over the course of a few months (at least for the duration of Eversea) it would have been more believable but for them to have instantly fell in love and then pined for each other for so long after that, it just didn't seem real. Don't get me wrong, I think this series is super cute and I loved every minute of it but that insta-love thing really had me reeling with this one.

Eversea and Forever, Jack were both such a delight to read. I really flew through them wanting to discover how their relationship turned out in the end--did they stay together or go their separate ways? I could honestly see this love story on the big screen. It just seems like one of those that would become an instant movie sensation. Of course I'm a hopeless romantic so I'm immediately drawn to those sorts of things ;)
